Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for your interest in distributing the Clark County Walkaround Guide!

What is the Walkaround Guide? The Walkaround Guide contains 25 maps of walking
and biking trails in Clark County. The “Guide” was made possible through a partnership
between Community Choices, Steps to a Healthier Clark County, Kaiser Permanente,
and Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation.

Who Should Use the Guide? The Guide was designed to get people walking and
biking on Clark County trails! Health experts agree it is very important for people to be
physically active. This includes people who are currently physically inactive, those who
have diabetes or are at risk for diabetes, and those who are obese or are at risk for
becoming obese. The Guide promotes Clark County trails which are free and available
to everyone in our community.

How is the “Guide” made available? Thanks to many supporting partners, the Guide
is distributed to organizations throughout Clark County. Examples of distribution sites
include workplaces, schools, healthcare providers, faith communities, community clubs,
senior centers and fitness facilities. If an organization wishes to give the Guide to its
members, patients, students, or employees, we request the organization answer the
following questions:

  • Tell us who will receive the Guide
  • Tell us how you plan to give the Guide away (see examples below)
  • Tell us how many Guides you need and when you need them

How have other organizations distributed the Guide?

  • Healthcare providers give the Guide to patients when encouraging them to be
    more physically active.
  • Employers give the Guide to each new or current employee in their business.
  • Workplace wellness coordinators use the Guide as a tool to begin or enhance
    their employee wellness programs.
  • Students and teachers integrate the Guide into class projects to promote physical
activity and increases awareness of trails in their community.
